Heddal Village
Heddal village is situated just a stone’s throw from Heddal stave church. This is an outdoor museum with various buildings from the historic farming community. The only exception is the Fyrileiv Cottage which is one of few examples of buildings which have been moved from a town to a rural village.
At the museum you can:
· Experience how farmers and cotter’s lived
· Study building history – from amongst 3 historically protected buildings
· Discover rose painting – by Olav Hansson and others
· Purchase books in the second-hand bookshop
· Pick your own potatoes and feast on homemade cuisine during ‘Potato Day’ celebrated in September
· Bring along your afternoon tea/coffee, find a tranquil spot and relax amongst the historic buildings – you may even get paid a visit by a roaming hen
· Rent out unique premises to be used for parties, meetings, etc.
